Rummy formats compared: Points, Pool and Deals at a glance
Each format moves the table differently. Here is what changes between Points, Pool and Deals - and which one suits a short session.
The GetRummyLudo rummy lobby offers three formats: Points, Pool and Deals. They share the same 13-card hand and the same valid-sequence rules, but they differ in table flow, scoring pace and the size of the prize at risk. Picking the right format matters more than picking the right hand.
Points Rummy
Each hand has a fixed rupee value per point. The first player to declare a valid hand wins the pool of unmatched points across the table. Typical entry starts around ₹8 per point, with 1 point = ₹0.1 in cash. A hand runs two to three minutes; a session of ten hands runs twenty to thirty minutes.
Points Rummy suits a short session with a small bankroll. The variance is low - most hands pay out close to the entry fee, with the occasional big win when an opponent drops with a high unmatched count.
Pool Rummy
Players contribute to a fixed pool of 101 or 201 points. The game continues until one player is eliminated by reaching the pool limit. Slower than Points - a session can run 45 minutes - but with bigger pot sizes.
Pool Rummy suits a longer session where you have read the table and identified weak opponents. The "table image" matters more here than in Points: opponents remember how you played the previous hand.
Deals Rummy
A set number of pre-dealt hands (typically two or three). Chips transfer between players per deal. Typical entry is ₹5 with two deals as the default.
Deals Rummy suits players who like a fixed-end commitment - you know exactly when the session ends and what the maximum loss is. It removes the open-ended risk of Pool.
Valid hand recap
Every format requires at least one pure sequence (no joker), one more sequence or set, and all 13 cards in valid combinations. A second sequence can use a joker. A hand without a pure sequence scores a full-count loss (80 points in most formats).
Which format to start with
If this is your first session on GetRummyLudo, start with Points Rummy at the smallest entry fee. Once you have a feel for the timer and the drop button, move to Deals. Save Pool for when you have a bankroll that can absorb the longer session.
