Fantasy cricket on GetRummyLudo: scoring, captain math and contest format

Fantasy cricket turns a real match into a contest where every run, wicket and catch scores points for the squad you picked. The GetRummyLudo fantasy product runs cricket as its primary sport. Below walks through squad rules, captain math and how to read the scoring system before committing entry fees.

Captain math

When 2× and 1.5× actually pay off

The captain pick earns 2× the player's score. The vice-captain earns 1.5×. Most squads pick the captain by gut, but the math can flip the decision: a high-floor batter who bats at number three often beats a star all-rounder who may not get a bowl.

  • High-floor captain. A consistent opener with a 35-point floor and a 75-point ceiling scores more on average than a volatile all-rounder.
  • Role match-up. On a green seamer, a frontline fast bowler can outscore a top-order batter. The role match-up drives the ceiling.
  • Vice-captain as a hedge. Pick the vice-captain from a different role - a top-order batter if the captain is a bowler. Insurance against a collapse.

FAQ

Fantasy questions visitors ask

When do contests lock?

Contests lock at the official toss of the match. Squads and captain picks are frozen at that point. Late edits are not possible.

What happens if a player is dropped from the playing XI?

If a picked player is not in the playing XI, the fantasy platform substitutes from your bench based on role. Substitution rules vary by platform; check the lobby terms.

How are rain-shortened matches scored?

The scoring system uses the official match result. For rain-affected matches, points are calculated from completed innings only.

Are fantasy contests legal in my state?

Six states currently restrict paid real-money play. The legal note lists the current state of the rules.

Contest lock is fixed at the official toss of the match. Squad edits close at the same moment, including captain and vice-captain swaps. If a player in your playing XI is dropped from the actual lineup, the platform substitutes from the bench based on role - substitution rules vary per operator, so always read the lobby terms before locking your squad.
