Ludo on GetRummyLudo: formats, timers and side-bet rules

Ludo inside the GetRummyLudo app is the lighter alternative to rummy. Shorter sessions, simpler mechanics, lower data usage. Below covers the token and timer model, the four-token and two-token formats, and what changes when a side-bet is on the line.

Four-token and two-token Ludo

Four-token Ludo

Classic layout

Each player starts four tokens. First to move all four tokens to the home triangle wins. The default timer is around 10 seconds per turn.

Two-token Ludo

Faster matches

Two tokens per player keeps matches short and reduces the chance of an opponent cutting you back to base. Typical session runs under 8 minutes.

Rules

How the timer, dice and captures work

  • Dice. A six-sided die determines token movement. A six grants an extra turn but does not stack beyond a single extra roll.
  • Captures. Land on a square occupied by an opponent's token to send it back to base. Some formats allow a safe-square rule.
  • Timer. Each turn has a countdown. Miss the timer and the turn auto-passes - at risk of losing your extra-turn roll.
  • Side-bet. Optional wagers vary per format. Read the table rules before joining - the side-bet is on top of the entry fee.

FAQ

Ludo questions visitors ask

How long does a typical match last?

Two-token Ludo matches run 5 to 8 minutes. Four-token matches run 10 to 20 minutes depending on timer settings and opponent style.

What happens if I lose connection mid-turn?

The app holds your turn window open for 30 seconds during a reconnect. If reconnect fails, the turn auto-passes.

Can I play with friends?

Yes - private rooms allow four invited players. Most casual formats include a friend-invite code.

What is the minimum entry fee?

Two-token Ludo tables start at ₹5. Four-token tables start higher depending on the side-bet configuration.

Two-token Ludo is the format most new players start with because the match ends in under eight minutes and the dice variance averages out faster. Four-token matches reward positional play - protecting tokens near the home stretch cuts the average match length significantly. The timer in both formats defaults to 10 seconds per turn; a missed timer forfeits the extra-turn roll from a six.
